This week marked the two-year anniversary of the launch of the UltraHealth contact lens at the Global Specialty Contact Lens Symposium in Las Vegas. Over the past two years the UltraHealth hybrid contact lens has been prescribed to over 10,000 irregular cornea patients with keratoconus and other corneal irregularities.
Carlsbad, CA (Jan. 5, 2015) – SynergEyes, Inc., the worldwide leader in hybrid contact lens technology, has expanded parameters for its Duette® lens – the high-performance contact lens for astigmatic patients. Parameters are now available in 0.1mm increments to facilitate even more precise alignment fitting and optimal centration.
"My patient is thrilled with the improved comfort of UltraHealth. He achieves 20/25, reports no foreign body issues and is able to wear the lens 14 hours per day without days off for “irritation”. His new comfort rating is a 5!"

When fitting an athlete with contact lenses, many factors have to be taken into consideration. Athletes have a different set of circumstances regarding their performance. One has to look at the playing environment that they are in,
"The patient’s astigmatism was a major factor in the poor acuity she experienced in her soft lenses and I knew Duette Progressive could drastically improve her vision at all distances. My experience fitting Duette lenses combined with my experience fitting soft multifocals with a similar optic design made the fit easy and intuitive.”
In this case study, Dr. Josh Gordon, OD, fit a 54-year-old female with Duette Progressive® lenses -- a change from the soft multifocal lenses she had been wearing for the past 2 years. He describes the ease of the fitting process, as well as the patient's improved vision results.
